This week we take a look at a pretty amazing episode of the Regular Show, check out parodies of Glee and Dolphin Tale on Mad, and see the finale of the Obi-Wan bounty hunter story arc on Clone Wars. Minor spoilers ahead!
Star Wars: The Clone Wars – "Crisis on Naboo"
The winners of last week's deadly "Box" contest set out to to kidnap cuddly 'ol Chancellor Palpatine on the planet of Naboo (just in time for Phantom Menace in 3D!). Ahsoka and Padmé get some time to converse when the Jedi support squad arrives on Naboo, and I swear I saw a Tron light cycle in the beginning of this episode.
MAD - "Dolphineas and Ferb Tale/VICTORious"
Why have I not been watching a show that features the mecha-dolphin from Dolphin Tale battling Cyborg from the Teen Titans (or New 52 Justice League...)??? Only if this show existed if I was a kid - I might have skipped out on staying up late and watching Mr. Show re-runs on HBO.
Regular Show – "Skips vs. Technology"
How can you not love a cartoon that starts with a montage set to I Get Around by the Beach Boys? Master voice actor and man with the uber deep voice Steven Blum (Halo 3, Cowboy Bebop, Samurai Champloo) makes a guest appearance as the voice of Techmo and the Doomagedden Virus in this episode.
My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic - "Read it and Weep"
What is sadder than a bed-ridden pony? I'm not sure, that's pretty far down the list. Bed-ridden seahorses? Rainbow Dash is in the hospital, and to pass the time, starts reading Daring Do and the Quest for the Sapphire Stone, a pony version of Indiana Jones. Rainbow Dash is embarrassed, because she thinks reading isn't cool.
Marvel Anime: Blade – "That Was Then, This Is Now"
This episode, like last week's, is full of flashbacks to Blade's childhood in London, England. In the first clip, Young Blade is running around the streets of England under the protection of women a less than savory lifestyle (think Alan Moore's From Hell set in the late 20th/early 21st Century), and we get a glimpse of Blade's mother in an old picture.
The Regular Show and Mad air Monday nights on the Cartoon Network. Blade airs Friday nights on G4TV. Star Wars: The Clone Wars airs Friday nights on the Cartoon Network. My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic airs Saturday Mornings on The Hub, when cartoons should air.
