Four years ago, Jason Geyer from Action Figure Insider blew the lid of the Star Wars merchandising world by displaying a collection of rejected but glorious Star Wars toys. And now he's back, with even more interesting and awesome Luke and Leia tie-ins that never made it into our homes.
Take a look at the insane Star Wars merch that could have been.
Long, long ago, Geyer and his co-workers were tasked with coming up with Star Wars merchandise for Episode One, without ever getting to see the movie first (they would later attend an early screening but during the very early development phase it was all blind). With the sky as the limit, Geyer and his crew pitched hundreds of ideas for new Star Wars toys and clever Pepsi tie-ins. What you're looking at now is a collection of the rejected toy concept art, some of which is pretty spectacular — and just a darn shame that we all don't have an inflatable Emperor's Throne.
And just in case you didn't see the old rejected toys we threw in some of our past favorites from 2008 (Bantha slippers!) at the bottom!
Loads more rejected toys over at Action Figure Insider.
