If you haven't heard about it yet, you need to check out Ghosts with Shit Jobs. Here's the synopsis:

In the future, jobs still suck ā€” but in whole new ways. By 2040, the economy has flipped and North Americans are a cheap labour pool for wealthy Asian markets. A Chinese documentary show focuses on the "ghosts" (Cantonese slang for white people) unlucky enough to have been born into the slums of Toronto in a special report that translates as "Ghosts With Shit Jobs."

We've got the "Human Spam" segment from the film above, and you can watch even more here.

One of our favorite science fiction writers Jim Munroe worked with a collective of folks to create this film for just $5,000 - the same way they did with their previous scifi lofi flick, Infest Wisely (which was also incredible, and you can watch it for free here). Now the gang is seeking $5,000 on Kickstarter to tour with the film, engage with audiences, and put on events devoted to discussing the issues raised by a movie about North America becoming an economic depression zone.

Want to bring the filmmakers to your town? Donate to their Kickstarter campaign. You absolutely won't regret it. This is exactly the kind of smart, low-budget scifi that you would hope the internet would allow us to have all the time. Funding a tour for Ghosts with Shit Jobs will allow more budding filmmakers to learn about how to produce low-budget movies that make a big impression ā€” and will provide you with an evening of entertainment that's off the beaten track.
