J.J. Abrams' Next Mind-Frak: The Large Hadron Collider Wipes Out The Whole Planet?

J.J. Abrams is in line to produce — but probably not direct — an ultra-low-budget movie with a ver zany premise. The God Particle, written by Oren Uziel, sort of like Odyssey 5: The Movie. Here's what happens, according to Vulture:

After a physics experiment with a large hadron accelerator causes the Earth to seemingly vanish completely, the terrified crew of an orbiting American space station is left floating in the middle of now-even-more-empty space. When a European spacecraft appears on their radar, the Americans must determine whether it's their salvation, or a harbinger of doom.

I love the idea of the LHC screwing up and actually erasing the whole planet. Apparently Uziel is also the author of a script picked up by Sony called The Kitchen Sink which combines zombies, vampires and alien invaders. [Vulture]
