In this week's comics, two Spider-Men meet up across universes

There are quite a few debuts hitting comic shops this Wednesday. First off, Brian Michael Bendis pens Spider-Men, a miniseries that sees Marvel's "regular" 616 universe cross over with the "newfangled" Ultimate universe. DC Comics is also releasing the Before Watchmen: Silk Spectre miniseries — here's our conversation with author Darwyn Cooke about that.

Other first issues this week include Star Wars: Knight Errant — Escape (more on that here), Scott Snyder's American Vampire: Lord Of Nightmares, Image's cyborg series Planetoid, and IDW Publishing's new KISS comic. But will they meet the Phantom of the Park? That is the important question. There's also the environmental meltdown comic The Massive. Here's our discussion with series author Brian Wood about the design process behind the book and a synopsis:

In this week's comics, two Spider-Men meet up across universes

In a post-war, post-crash, post-disaster, post-everything world, the environmental-action trawler Kapital scours the earth's oceans for its mysteriously missing sister ship, The Massive. Captain Callum Israel, a man who has dedicated his life to the ocean, now must ask himself-as our planet dies-what it means to be an environmentalist after the world's ended. Callum and his crew will come up against pirates, rebels, murderers, and thieves as they struggle to remain noble toward their cause.

As for returning series, there are new issues of Frankenstein Agent Of S.H.A.D.E., Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Conan The Barbarian, AVX VS, The Strain (here's some info on the cover artwork for that book), Batman, Saucer Country, Uncanny X-Force, and Sixth Gun. Some noteworthy graphic novels being released include the first volume of the revamped Batwoman series, the second volume of the Mark Waid-penned Daredevil, and a reprint of the supernatural title 100 Months by the late 2000 AD artist John Hicklenton.

And as usual, here's the list of everything being released to comic stores tomorrow, and you can find your nearest comic retailer here. Happy reading, gang!
