Indiana Jones, Watchmen, and more reenacted by Mouse Guard's adorable miceS

When they aren't protecting their fellow rodents from fearsome predators, the mice of David Petersen's comic Mouse Guard are playing at being other characters — flying the Watchmen Owl Ship, snatching ancient idols à la Indiana Jones, or trying their tiny paws at the X-Men fastball special.

Petersen has had plenty of character mashup practice drawing the covers for the Muppets' King Arthur, Snow White, and Robin Hood comics, but these scenes are almost more charming with his own characters. His heroic mice already make for fine swordsmen, so it's no great surprise that they translate well into adventurers and superheroes.

You can see more of Petersen's Mouse Guard illustrations (mashup and otherwise) on his website.
