J.J. Abrams and Edgar Wright team up for a mystery movie called Collider

Two entertainment icons, J.J. Abrams and Edgar Wright, are teaming up for a mysterious science fiction movie called Collider. Could this be our first big Hollywood picture about the Large Hadron Collider? And is it the same as the God Particle project that Abrams was linked to recently?

Not much is known about this secret movie, besides the fact that it is based on an original idea by Wright. But Deadline is reporting that Wright will direct, screenwriter Mark Protosevich (I Am Legend) will write the script (along with Wright), and J.J. Abrams will produce. That's enough firepower to make this a fascinating project right off the bat.

What does this mean for Ant-Man? Nothing yet, since Marvel still hasn't set a date for that picture. Meanwhile, Abrams is finishing up Star Trek 2 — so it's really anyone's guess when he'll have time to work on this. But based on the speed with which Abrams starts and finishes movies, we're betting this Bad Robot picture hits the big screen long before anything Ant-Man-related. But first, Wright has to shoot The World's End, his collaboration with Simon Pegg and Nick Frost which was recently greenlit.
