This is probably the best-looking Godzilla comic you've ever read

A few years back, Orc Stain artist (and io9 favorite) James Stokoe did a short concept piece titled World War G, in which Godzilla trashes Tokyo in Stokoe's grimy-gorgeous, hyper-detailed fashion.

This just-for-laughs concept piece led to Stokoe's new official Godzilla comic, Godzilla: The Half-Century War, which hits stores next week. Here's an exclusive seven-page preview of the first issue, and holy hell does it look good. Hopefully someone from Marvel will now take a hint and green-light Stokoe's "Spider-Man in Vietnam" concept piece. The Half-Century War hits stores next Wednesday, August 8. Here's the plot synopsis:
