Dario Argento's classic horror flick Suspiria — which was about supernatural evil looming over a ballet academy — featured an iconic score by Italian prog-rockers Goblin.
So it tickles us to no end that Russian synchronized swimming duet Natalia Ishchenko and Svetlana Romashina dressed up like creepy puppets, blasted Goblin on the Olympic Aquatics Centre's PA, and clinched the gold medal today in London by behaving like demonically possessed marionettes.
Here's footage from this April's Olympic qualifiers of Ishchenko and Romashina demonstrating their unholy water dancing. The rest of their winning routine incorporated music from Amélie and Sleepy Hollow, but Suspiria, by gum! Let's see some Dawn of the Dead in 2016, folks.
