If you've got about 150 thousand bucks burning a hole in your pocket, you can build and launch one of these little personal satellites called cubesats.

What you're looking at here is the future of personalized space exploration. When prices come down on these things, anybody could launch their own mini-space telescopes or science experiments into low Earth orbit for a couple of months (after that time, they're designed to fall back to Earth and disintegrate in the atmosphere so they won't add to all the space junk in orbit).

Just please do not use them to launch your own personal geoengineering project, OK?
