Johnny Depp takes the lead in Dark Knight cinematographer's directorial debut, Transcendence

There's plenty of buzz surrounding Wally Pfister's first outing as a director. And for good reason — this is the cinematographer behind all of Chris Nolan's Batman films, and many other pictures. Adding to the potential excitement, Johnny Depp has agreed to star in his science fiction movie Transcendence.

We still don't know much about this movie. Jack Paglen wrote the screenplay, but we're not familiar with his work. Pfister described the movie as "present day science fiction, a fairly big concept." He went on to say it wouldn't have as big of a budget as Batman. But that's all we got. Still with a name like Depp attached to it, who knows where this picture could end up.
