Has Disney already found the writer for Star Wars: Episode VII? One particular name is being thrown around, and when you think about it, it makes complete sense.
Vulture is reporting that Michael Arndt of Toy Story 3 and Little Miss Sunshine is a strong contendor for the job. Rumor has it he's already written a 40 to 50 page treatment. Arndt is beloved by Pixar, and has been secretly working on a treatment long before the merger.
Vulture continues on explaining that the studio wants to bring back the big three from the original Star Wars Han, Luke and Leia. Alas there are currently no deals in place. Once Arndt is finished with his treatment it's allegedly being handed off to Brad Bird, Steven Spielberg, and J.J. Abrams. This doesn't mean any of these big names will direct, but Disney isn't above dangling the bait. Sounds good to us, Arndt is a pro and a big time fan of Star Wars, hope this gets confirmed real soon.
