If you've seen Guillermo del Toro's Oscar-winning dark fairy tale flick Pan's Labyrinth, you were probably thinking to yourself, "Man, you know what would make this movie great? Some songs." Well, you're not alone, because apparently del Toro has been working on turning it into a musical for the past four years. Now he's hired singer-songwriter Paul Williams to do the lyrics and composer Gustavo Santaolalla to write the music. I assume hiring the dude who write "The Rainbow Connection" for The Muppet Movie and the Oscar-award-winning composer of the Brokeback Mountain score means this has a significantly better chance of happening than some of the other eight million projects del Toro has announced this year, although there's no premiere date or anything. Still, I'm excited, if for no other reason than I want to see The Pale Man do some jazz hands.
