Rococopunk is not only sillier than Steampunk, it's also more punkS

Where has Rococopunk been all my life? This obstinately silly new trend imagines a world where "the Rococo period never ended, and it had a lovechild with Sid Vicious," according to WonderHowTo's Austin Sirkin. The face makeup looks like something out of Liquid Sky and the costumes have a wonderfully decadant pallette. Nobody is ever going to say that Rococopunk has anything to do with goths discovering the color brown.

My favorite: The guy who has "Opulence" tattooed (Sharpied?) on his knuckles.

The earliest reference to Rococopunk I can find is a painting from 2010. But the people in these photos appear to have been at Dragon*Con 2012, and you can watch Nerd Caliber's interview with them here.

Check out some photos below, which come from Brownlee Currey of RBC Images, plus Damn Redhead Photography, and see more over at WonderHowTo.
