A new director attempts to climb J.G. Ballard's High-Rise A new director is trying to take on the forever-in-development adaptation of J.G. Ballard's superbuilding novel High-Rise. We guess this means Splice's Vincent Natali is off the project.

Empire is reporting that Ben Wheatley of Kill List and Sightseers is taking on the movie adaptation of the 1975 novel. Set in an extremely isolated island high-rise, the book is centered around the tenants of the building and how their isolation eventually turns into all-out revolution. The upperclass versus the middle class versus the lower class, and it gets bloody. Which is something Wheatley is very experienced in... so that's good.

While we're bummed Natali isn't behind this version, we're very happy Ballard will be back on the big screen. Fingers crossed it actually happens this time!
