When you see these tiny metal "Apocalypt-Ephunts" you'll know the truth about the end of the world. It will be signaled by the arrival of cute, miniature elephants bearing cannons. These intriguing and bizarre creatures made by Los Angeles artist Amanda Visell go on sale today, and you can get them in a variety of metals.

The Ephunts come in silver (top), as well as gold (above), copper (below), and black nickel. They range in price from $100-$150 for a set of six (three biggies, about 2.5 inches tall, and three littlies, at about 1.5 inches tall). What I love about these creatures is the way they look like a cross between some far-future beast from the Dune universe, or some far-past creature from Lord of the Rings. Plus, elephants make the best aliens anyway.

You can order one of these limited-edition sets at Fully Visual. More »
