Arrow's taking the first steps towards Birds of Prey!

Star Wars: Rebels unveils a new character. Marc Webb says Amazing Spider-Man 2 is actually about Peter Parker and Gwen Stacy's "delicate" relationship. A new Walking Dead photo features a fierce Michonne. And Jed Whedon claims that absolutely everything in Agents of SHIELD will pay off in the second half of the first season. Spoilers now!

Amazing Spider-Man 2

Director Marc Webb says that, while the sequel's visual effects are impressive, it's the relationship between Gwen and Peter that really shines in the sequel. Speaking with Total Film, Webb said:

It's huge. We're pushing the levels of effects, the level of action and the emotional capacity of this kid. It's an aggressive step forward. We throw around the term 'operatic' because of the spectacle and the theatre involved, which is pretty epic.

. . . There are enormous sets and great set-pieces. But really it's a very intimate song – this relationship between Peter and Gwen is very delicate and beautiful.

Arrow

Jessica de Gouw's returning as the Huntress. Not only that, but she's going to tangle with Caity Lotz's Canary. And yes, the episode is going to be titled "Birds of Prey." In it, Helena Bertinelli/Huntress will come back to Starling City in order to get revenge on her father. In order to do that, she'll battle Oliver and Sarah Lance. Said executive producer Marc Guggenheim:

We consider Jessica a member of the Arrow family and we're looking forward to having her back for an episode everyone will be talking about after.

Star Wars: Rebels

Speaking with MoviePilot.de, executive producer Dave Filoni explained that the goal of Rebels is to recapture the glory of the original trilogy:

We will see many things that are famous to Star Wars, but have not appeared on screen in a while. Star Destroyers, TIE Fighters, and Stormtroopers - basically the Empire is back and that is a big change, since, for many years, we have only seen the Republic in action. The tone of the series is also different. The Clone Wars got very dark as we headed towards the end of the war and the downfall of the Jedi. Star Wars Rebels brings back the banter and faster pace that the original films were famous for.

He also described the primary setting of the show, the planet Lothal:

Rebels takes place in the Outer Rim. The audience typically thinks of Tatooine as the place where Luke Skywalker grew up, when the Outer Rim is mentioned. We are on a more civilized planet, and one that profited from the Empire's existence in the beginning. Most of the stories take place on the planet Lothal, which is a grass planet with large monolithic stones on the surface. The look comes from some Ralph McQuarrie concept paintings that were done for the original Star Wars films. We tried to make Lothal look and feel like a planet that would have been in the original film trilogy. It's alien, but you feel like it's someplace that you could visit on Earth geographically. Hoth, Tatooine, and Endor are all like this, so we think it fits in well.

Revealed was another new character, the droid Chopper. Photos of him are below. [Coming Soon]

Agents of SHIELD

Executive producer Maurissa Tancharoen said that the recently announced news that Deathlok would be on the show was something that they'd been wanting to do since they started the show:

Deathlok had been on our radar from the beginning. He was at the top of our list of Marvel characters that we could bring in. It seems like a nice progression for Mike Peterson — when he becomes Deathlok, you're always going to root for the Mike Peterson that's still in there somewhere.

Fellow executive producer Jed Whedon hinted that even the standalone episodes are going to start paying off, now that we've hit the back end of the season:

These standalone episodes actually have a payoff, planting a seed in our universe that will then pay off. You start to see that [Ian] Quinn's involved with the Clairvoyant and Centipede; all these things are pieces of a whole that we try to build in a way that was respectful to the films, but can pay off. Now, we're excited to get to the point in the season where it does pay off.
