And while many items were sold for thousands of credits, the main draws — the life size Cylon Raider, Colonial Viper and Colonial Raptor — didn't meet the required $30K reserve to sell. These are desperate times if rich nerds can't afford a 30-foot alien warship/creature. I know, I couldn't even scrounge up enough bills to buy Doc Cottle's smokes (which sold for a mere $600). Also many of the cast members showed up, Colonel Saul Tigh (Michael Hogan) auctioned off his liquor bottles in person, and the volunteers were dressed as BSG crew members. [Auction Network] More »

While we're out here at WonderCon, patrolling the halls of fandom and looking for good science fiction action, there's a piece of super-sized memorabilia on eBay that you might want to pick up: a full-sized replica of Gort from The Day The Earth Stood Still. It was created by Fred Barton Productions ("Celebrity Robots Brought To Life!") and although it's a local pickup only in the San Francisco area, the thing is already up to over four thousand bucks. Our favorite line from the auction is, "Although the controller is included, the robot hasn't been activated in years. It's unknown if it's in working condition." Last year Christie's auction house dropped jaws when it tractor-beamed in more than $7 million in bits for a massive Star Trek auction featuring props, costumes, and a little box to keep your dignity in. Now Brent "Data" Spiner himself has apparently confirmed that some of the items were not authentic. Ted Moustakis got ripped off to the tune of $12,000 by winning Data's poker visor, the Enterprise poker table, and Data's costume. When he showed the visor to Brent, Brent told him that he'd sold the original off years ago. On eBay. Now the guy is suing Christie's for $710,000.
