Booster Gold is a pretty clever concept: A guy from the far future travels back in time to our present, using futuristic technology to become a superhero so that he can become rich and famous. Would this concept actually work as a weekly TV show, especially if you put Booster in a world with few or no other superheroes? I guess we may get to find out. Syfy has ordered a Booster Gold pilot script from Fringe producer Andrew Kreisberg. Murder shatters the peace in a retirement community for old superheroes, in Gail Simone's awesome Welcome To Tranquility Vol. 1, out this week. The collection of the first six issues of Tranquility comes too late to win new fans and save the series from cancellation, but it's still worth picking up for bizarre characters like Emoticon, the gangsta with a mask that displays his feelings, and Zeke the rockabilly zombie gravedigger.
