Man Arrested for Discovering True A.I.

A guy in Japan has been arrested for building a robotic arm that spends all day goofing around on the news-rating website Digg. While he's out working, the robot arm "reads" stories on Digg, and then interacts with a keyboard and mouse to rate each story. Why this is illegal is beyond me. Sounds like the guy has perfectly captured the mentality on most news ranking websites, meaning he may have invented the first genuine A.I. — if you define "intelligence" as the ability to say whether a story sucks or doesn't suck. Shouldn't this guy be getting a Nobel prize or something? [Pink Tentacle]
