Renowned physicist Brian Greene is here to answer all your questions about theoretical physics, superstring theory, and his new online science education website, World Science U, launching today.
Greene is a professor of physics and mathematics at Columbia University and the co-director of Columbia's Institute for Strings, Cosmology, and Astroparticle Physics, where he specializes in superstring theory, including making the co-discoveries of mirror symmetry and topology change. He's the author of several books including The Elegant Universe, which was a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize, and two bestsellers, The Fabric of the Cosmos and The Hidden Reality.
Greene is also the co-founder of the World Science Festival, and his latest project, World Science U, just launched today with 100,00 people already pre-registered. It offers a variety of digital science courses online, ranging from the quick 1-minute explanation of just what dark matter is to a 10-week course with Greene focusing on special relativity.
He'll be joining us from 10-11:00 A.M. (Pacific time). so start asking him questions now about string theory, the theoretical underpinnings of physics, and the potential of online science education.
