For the Nuit Blanche: Bring to Light on October 1, artist Marcos Zota projected a giant eyeball onto the bottom of the Milton Street water tower in Brooklyn. Conceived as a commentary of gentrification in the neighborhood, the piece also makes for a serviceable stand-in for a Martian invader. More »

Last week, Tim Heidecker (of Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job! fame) was minding his own business when an entire UFO fleet began to descend upon the neighborhood of Greenpoint. The reality of this invasion shocked and dismayed the Adult Swim actor — he really should have called in Dr. Steve Brule to investigate. More »

The British design collective Giant Robots built the beast last month, but not before getting arrested in the name of art. More »

We had a chance to see the amazingly eye-blistering @ Murakami exhibit in Los Angeles a couple of months ago before they packed everything up and headed to Brooklyn. The same exhibit is now on display at the Brooklyn Museum until July 13th, and is definitely worth checking out. We nabbed a few moments with Takashi Murakami and found out about his influences, his impressions of the show, and how his brain works when he's creating something. Check out our interview down below. <a href="http://io9.com/382926/murakami-tells-io9-about-his-secret-love-for-jj-abrams" title="Click here to read more about Murakami Tells io9 About His Secret Love For J.J.
