Again I am taken out of the show by the total absence of a medical staff in the presumably large, world-wide, government supported and high tech 'Sanctuary network'. Did you notice that the presumed bad guy -- Mr Forgettable? Mr Anonymous? Mr WeNeedAThirdPersonInThisScene -- was announcing to the others that Magnus had been 'put in a coma for her own safety'?
Who did that, and are you, Mr ScriptWorkAround, administrator, action man, and doctor as well?
How again could this place run with so few people. :)
At least coma-Magnus wasn't put on a table in a middle of a large round CG room. :) Reply

@frederic: I think Magnus doesn't want a big staff because she does most of the work herself with the minimum staff needed to assist. The other Sanctuaries may be run differently but that's how Magnus runs her own house.

@Ghost_in_the_Machine: There has to be other people. They are simply not written in. Who put Magnus on the hospital bed and sedated her? All of the other characters were elsewhere.
Also, there is an unsaid number of of 'abnormals' living in the Sanctuary, more than a dozen. It's a zoo that needs a lot of maintenance. Reply

@frederic: The writers seem to following the spirit of the webisodes in how Magnus runs her own house. The Big Guy is the zookeeper, he's not just Magnus' butler. Magnus does the medical work and research. Henry, Kate, and Will take care of the rest. That's it for staff. It may not be realistic, but the show is consistent about it.

@Ghost_in_the_Machine: I liked it better when the sanctuary was more isolated- the global network makes sense, but it devalues Helen magnus. The idea that "hundreds" of people would vie for her position and could potentially clean house and run it however they want is terrible- especially since that revelation came right after Declan told Will that Magnus brought him on as her replacement. Magnus should already have measures in place to ensure Will as her successor, and she sure as hell shouldn't be subject to committee, no matter how crazy she appears.
