You just made me remember a rather obscure plot device of Animorphs. I don't know how I feel about that. Were those books any good, or was I blinded by being young, stupid and in need of a monthly book series?

@Alexis: Animorph books are alright actually, some pretty decent (if slightly hamfisted) concepts, stories and characters in there. Though animal brigade vs guns does start to wear a little thin wen i read them after my early teens.
