No, Mary Jane should stay. She was a big part of Peter's life in the comics, storylines which we have yet to see in the movies, and just dumping her off because the actress isn't any good at the role is silly. Just dump Dunst. I mean, how wrong was that a natural red-headed beauty (and with more acting talent) DIDN'T play MJ but a blond instead?

@TemporalSword: They've already destroyed Spider-canon, and did far worse damage to the character of Spider-man (in my humble opinion) by changing Gwen Stacy's involvement in Peter's life. Why not kill Mary Jane while they're at it?
I'm not a fan of changing major characters or story lines for comic movies, but Dunst is pretty awful. The character of Mary Jane in the movies, overall, is pretty much garbage. I'd like to see them dump her and go in a different direction, just for the sake of bettering the franchise. Reply

I'm not saying I don't like Dunst: I do, normally. I've just never thought she was a good fit in this role, and she's made it very clear she doesn't want to be in these movies. So why not cast someone who would enjoy the role? Reply

@Dunny0: I think that's one recast that everyone would enjoy. And I don't think the transition would be jarring.

@Scaramanga9: I didn't say I don't like the movie when that happens. I just cringe a little when they do it. But yeah, I understand that they have to make some changes just to get it to fly as a movie.
