I'm waiting for someone to write a sci-fi book about us coming up with CO2 scrubbers that work too efficiently and cause rampant global cooling. Then a mega ice age takes over the planet and we have to save the world by polluting like crazy. Too bad if anyone wrote such a book someone would think that they were ripping off the Futurama episode where they had to litter to save Earth from the trash ball.
