"Robert Heinlein's portrayal of Asians was spotty, and like most of his work, could be portrayed as horribly bigoted or enlightened, depending on your perspective. For example, Asians in "The Moon Is A Harsh Mistress" are charicatures, but then so is everyone. The hero of "Starship Troopers" was Philippino. Lots of positively portrayed Asians in "The Cat Who Walked Through Walls". His early work "The Day After Tomorrow" AKA "Sixth Column" is astoundingly racist."
