New avatar. I felt like I may be misleading people into believing I was a beautiful, ex-Hand of the Emperor, gifted with extraordinary Force skills....or, a gorgeous, yet disturbingly gravely-voiced villainess with strange tastes in men.
So, I present the wholly real, and only ever so slightly, photoshopped (color balanced, that's it! honest.) me.
Nothing more than the "Meh." looking, Merciless Pirate Queen, Vengeful Blade Goddess and Enigmatic Aether Witch that I so humbly am.

Just bringing it up as evidence that I am both a drunk sociopath AND a raving lunatic.

Attention D.C./Baltimore area; geeks, nerds, dweebs, freaks, losers, and assorted dregs interested in the science-fiction genre!!
I am hoping to assemble a rag-tag, fugitive fleet on a social quest...to find a shining meeting place of some sort, be it a bar, restaurant, public park that tolerates weirdos congregating..whatever, but we won't call it "Earth" 'cause that's a dull name..
Once there we shall have discourse on neat-o, sci-fi stuff and actually meet the wacky people what comment on iO9. (live! in person!)
Interested parties should P.M. here, or on just about any social-blog-thingy of their chosing. (I'm on most of 'em)
Hope to see you all in the Future! (future..future..future..)

@dangrgirl:
Have you seen Sin City?
The question isn't whether she'll be a strong character or not...It's whether she'll be a strong character with clothes or not.

@moff:
Normally, I can deal with the complete lack of realism in my cartoons about supernatural beings with amazing powers, who fight for some god-knows-why reason.
BUT, MY GOD, MAN!

If you didn't have a star all ready, I'd give you mine.
Hell, for that, you can still have it.

I think what we need here is a cook-off, nice 'ole fashioned John Henry style.

@Jeff-Minor:
Most of the reviews I've read simply refer to them as "the Wachowskis".
I could be wrong on this, but from what I understand, Larry has made no move to publicly confirm or deny anything.

I've gotta give Adama a little more credit, here.
The bit where he puts the Galactica into free fall above New Caprica and then jumps away at the last second...
Blew my frakking mind.
I think that moment alone is on of the ten best battle scenes in sci-fi television.

I seem to recall a SNL where giant, mutant lobsters laid siege to the studio, killing stage hands as well as beloved members of the Not Ready for Primetime Players.
All to avenge the untimely demise of Larry the Lobster at the hands of a bemused Dan Ackroyd.
