<![CDATA[steven522 commented on A CGI Gojira Worthy of His Name]]> @Chaoticevl: I think if they would have tried to forget "Godzilla" and just made a giant lizard creature attacks New York, it would have been a more accepted movie. When I saw how they were changing it, I just decided to blank "Godzilla" from my mind and just go and watch it for the monster movie it was. With that, it was a perfectly fine movie and I too enjoyed it. However, as a direct "Godzilla" remake/update/sequel, it was not so good.

The above Godzilla effect itself was pretty good, but I have just about had it with movies or television shows that have pretty much everything except the main actor generated in the computer. Just go ahead and make the final step and instead of green screening a couple of actors for 99% of the scenes, record the voices and make the entire movie CGI animation.

<![CDATA[steven522 commented on Watch Out for Sarcastic Cylons]]> @reddingofish: There are no such thing as Centurion owners. Everyone knows that you can never actually own a Centurion.

"Come here raider... nice boy!"

@Whitworthian: How does a mention to "Scar" prove the raiders reincarnate? I thought that Scar was recognizable because of the survived battle damage. He was too smart to be destroyed easily and had survived long enough to have the scar on the front from previous encounters. I don't remember him showing up in battle after he was destroyed at the end of the episode.

]]>
<![CDATA[steven522 commented on Watch Out for Sarcastic Cylons]]> "Who knew Baltar could be funny?"

Where have you been? Baltar has been comic relief on BSG since the mini-series. It the few times that he is not "funny" that seems so out-of-character.

<![CDATA[steven522 commented on Watch The Dark Knight's Harvey Dent Flip His Coin]]> I like the fact that they are going to let the symbiote suit actually look like the comic version before it goes to Venom. I was worried at first when I saw they were doing a Spider-man 3 variation of the normal suit dyed black, but this works pretty well. Although I wish they had put a few more episodes of the symbiote suited Spider-man in before having him get rid of it.

<![CDATA[steven522 commented on Pick Any Hero You Want, Except Hana Gitelman]]> So we are to read the web comic, decide which character we like and would like to see on the show, and then get really pissed off when they cast someone not in the least similar to the web comic character?

Yeah, this is a winner...

]]>
<![CDATA[steven522 commented on Two Problems and One Solution for Friday's Battlestar Episode]]> I'm sorry, but the Zarek Solution does not pan out. If you want to talk about people being in character, then having Adama run away because Zarek is president would never happen. That would be way more out of character than Adama feeling his own internal conflict over Roslin puts the fleet in danger and it might be safer to let the fleet go on with trusted people in the higher leadership roles.

<![CDATA[steven522 commented on 10 Awesome Uses For A Stasis Field]]> Actually Violet from the Incredibles was a force-field "invisible girl" style. Now Syndrome used a null-ray that could be called a sort-of stasis field, but it just froze the victim, not suspended them in time.

<![CDATA[steven522 commented on Resurrecting the Extinct Tasmanian Tiger from Preserved DNA]]> I would love to see something like this actually work. Start with the thylacine and work your way up to the frozen mammoths, etc. That would be one zoo, I would have to visit. I say zoo, because I doubt any of the cloned animals would be able to survive in the wild. Not because of the "cloned" factor, but because that since they have vanished, other predator/prey combinations have stepped in and there would really no longer be a place for them.

<![CDATA[steven522 commented on Final Dollhouse Trailer Kicks 100 Percent More Ass]]> @gemma1: Yeah, but the TV series "Buffy" had a built in following from the original movie. People were willing to give it a chance based off of the memories from the movie.

...which is what I did...

...for about 1 1/2 seasons. Then I just couldn't take it anymore. I was honestly surprised it lasted as long as it did.

<![CDATA[steven522 commented on You'll Never Guess Who Kid Magneto Hangs Out With]]> You gotta love the Spectacular Spider-Man series. I don't care how much is spent making a big-budget movie, the best continuation of a comic book series just has to be in animation.

]]>
<![CDATA[steven522 commented on The Trouble With Hancock]]> I think its a conspiracy by the movie industry: Planned "last minute" reshoots and rating haggling just so they can release multiple DVDs and recoup money that way if the actual theatrical release bombs.

<![CDATA[steven522 commented on Pick The Worst Scifi Movie Sequel Of All Time]]> @DangerousDac: Well the basic question should really be why would anyone expect an EVIL Peter Parker at all? The symbiote did not turn Parker evil in the comics. The worst it did was take over his sleeping body and go out for some late night web slinging. He found out it was attaching itself to him "permanently" and had to remove it.
That forced removal is what drove the symbiote insane and created Venom.

Spiderman 3 really should have been split into Spiderman 3 and 4 and the black-suit-to-Venom thought through and filled out a little more.

<![CDATA[steven522 commented on Twin Moonraker Space Stations in Orbit, Obvious Plot to Destroy Earth!]]> Genesis 1 and Genesis 2 make a "deuce", right? For Bigelow Industries, right?

<![CDATA[steven522 commented on Bring Back the Old Starbuck Please]]> Personally, I have always thought that Starbuck was one of the weakest "reimagined" character overall. The character has always been portrayed as being not the most stable character on the show.

Baltar, on the other hand, has reached a "tune in to see just what the hell he is going to do next" level that keeps me coming back.

Overall, I am really going to miss the show after this final season, but at the same time I kind of want off the roller coaster before I barf.

<![CDATA[steven522 commented on X-Men Get A Warning From A Ruined Future]]> @Garrison Dean, King Awesome: I have seen "demo pics" of the Indy set, but none locally.
