DC is moving the JLA to Canada and turned Lobo into a male model

While everyone is still freaking out about Ben Affleck's Batman, it seems like DC thought it would be time to announce some other news that may not be so popular: Specifically, that the Justice League of America is heading north and that Lobo will now apparently be played by Twilight's Robert Pattinson.

I'm serious. That's the New 52's redesign of Lobo, and that's the official cover for 2014 Justice League Canada #1, which will be written by Sweet Tooth and Animal Man's Jeff Lemire.

Before you storm DC's offices screaming about the Anti-Life Equation, while JLC will be renumberd for a bit, it's more of a JLA storyarc than a permanent move. Comic Book Resources spoke with Lemire, who said:

The actual idea to move the team to Canada wasn't mine. It was [DC Co-Publisher]Dan DiDio's. When we started talking about the book and the direction we were taking it, he actually threw that idea out there. At first, I thought he was just joking but then I realized that he was serious and I embraced it. And really went crazy with it. This "Justice League of Canada" storyline is going to be a lot of fun and I'm really going to try to make something really special for Canadian fans. And it actually leads to something even bigger for the team

A Canadian Adam Strange will be also joining the team, as well as a brand-new Canadian superhero. You can read more about Lemire's plans here.

As for Lobo, man, I don't even know. Here's what DC said when they revealed the design (along with two far less radical redesigns, and then a terrifying version of what appears to be Kid Lobo), which will debut in the "Villains Month" Lobo #1 one-shot:

The Lobo you’ve seen so far in the New 52 is not who you think he is. In this one-shot, you’ll be introduced to the real Lobo. A ruthless killer, Lobo is on a quest to kill the man who has taken his name.

This Lobo is equal parts strong, vicious, and driven. There’s a darker and more logical idea about what a force of nature like him is capable of. After all, this is someone who can infiltrate high society, fly a space ship, and adhere to a very specific moral code that’s not your typical anti-hero one.

So... he's the real Lobo? All right then. I'm just going to set this news here, and then back away slowly...
