Does a comic book tell us what Ben Affleck's Batman will look like?S

In the next four years, Ridley Scott's looking to make Prometheus 2, Forever War, Exodus, and Blade Runner 2. There's also a complete cast for the BBC's Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell. Plus, Summer Glau previews her character on Arrow. Spoilers now!

Prometheus 2/Forever War/Exodus

Ridley Scott's going to really busy for the next few years. Prometheus 2 is written, but not scheduled to start filming yet. He also indicates that Exodus, his Biblical epic starring Christian Bale, John Turturro, Sigourney Weaver, and Joel Edgerton, is ready to go in 2014. But the big shock is that he also says that a second film is ready for 2015, and that's his long-mooted film adaptation of Forever War. Scott calls that book "one of the last great science-fiction books." If Scott's right about the timing, that likely means that Forever War, about soldiers fighting a war against an alien invasion, will be shooting in the next two years. [Giant Freakin' Robot]

Passengers

Rachel McAdams has confirmed the rumors that she'll be taking the role of the woman woken up from stasis by a fellow passenger (Keanu Reeves) to keep him company on a long space flight. When asked about it, McAdams said:

There's a film called 'Passengers' thats in the works with Keanu Reeves that's all based in space. [It's] a very cool script. Hopefully that's gonna work out...

Blade Runner 2

While Scott's on top of those projects, the Blade Runner sequel's been put on the back burner. Scott said:

Yeah, we’re working on [Blade Runner 2] right now — that will happen sooner or later.

Later, probably. With Prometheus 2, Exodus, and Forever War already further along, the most optimistic guess is that production on Blade Runner 2 will start in late 2016 or 2017. [Giant Freakin' Robot]

Thor: The Dark World

Here's an clip showing Idris Elba's Heimdall being AWESOME.

Warner Bros./ David S. Goyer

Right, who is ready for a bunch more films from Man of Steel scribe David S. Goyer? Because Warner Bros. has just given him a three-year deal, which will start with him directing a "Hitchcockian" science fiction thriller written by Doug Jung. Goyer is hoping to direct and produce a number of other films under the deal, describing his goals as:

Aside from me helping the studio break story on some of their properties and them supporting me as a director, we want to find other projects in an area I could call elevated genre, and this first project falls neatly into the category. I’ve found TV to be a more collaborative medium for writers than film, and there is a ton of terrific writers working in network TV and basic cable right now. Part of the intent of this deal is to tap that stable of writers and bring them into the feature world as well.

Man of Steel 2: Batman vs. Superman

Speaking of Man of Steel, rumor has it that Batman: Noel will be the inspiration for Ben Affleck's take on the Dark Knight. Also reportedly in the works is a whole new Batmobile, courtesy of GM and a revamp (already) of Superman's costume. Below's an image from Batman: Noel which might be similar to what we'll see in Man of Steel 2. [Slashfilm]

Transformers 4: Age of Extinction

In an interview with a Chinese paper, Michael Bay hinted at what will be in the 30-35 minutes of the movie they've been filming in Hong Kong, saying:

There was a lot of dynamite.

We are not destroying Hong Kong. I can’t tell you how they [Decepticons] get here. They [the Autobots] are not rescuing Hong Kong but definitely rescuing something.

[Transformer World]

After saying that she's already done some filming for Hannibal season two, Gillian Anderson gave more details about how willing she'd be to do another X-Files movie:

Who knows? Obviously I get asked about that every week. And from day one, we always said if there is one, we'll show up for it. It's a matter of it being written and it's a matter of Fox agreeing to produce it.

Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell

Filming on the BBC series starts next week, and we now have pretty much the whole cast in place. Besides Eddie Marsan and Bertie Carvell in the title roles, there will be Alice Englert (Beautiful Creatures) as Lady Pole, Marc Warren (Hustle) as the gentleman with the thistle-down hair, Samuel West (Mr Selfridge) as Sir Walter Pole, Charlotte Riley (Wuthering Heights) as Arabella, Enzo Cilenti (Rome) as Childernass, and Paul Kaye (Game of Thrones) as Vinculus. The Walking Dead

While it's not shocking that the show's been renewed for a fifth season, it was also announced that Scott Gimple will be returning as showrunner. [TV Line]

Doctor Who

Mark Gatiss, the executive producer of the docudrama about the show's early years, explained the focus of the project, saying:

I had to focus it down. Simple as that. This is a drama, not a documentary, and though it's extremely painful to have to leave out some people who played a huge part, it makes dramatic sense. You simply can't do everyone justice in 90 minutes. For instance, the story of how Terry Nation and Ray Cusick created the Daleks is almost a film all on its own! Jeff Rawle plays Mervyn Pinfield, who was the Associate Producer, and his character sort of absorbs several others including Donald Wilson and the brilliant David Whitaker – the first script editor - whose contribution was immeasurable.

[Life, Doctor Who, and Combom]

And here's a video interview with David Tennant talking about being on the set with Matt Smith:

Arrow

In an interview, Summer Glau explained the relationship between her character, Isabel, and Oliver and hinted at how it will develop:

How would you describe Isabel's relationship with Oliver at Queen Consolidated? Fair to say it's contentious?

It is contentious, and it's a power struggle. They are trying to test each other's boundaries and test each other's power and try to set up dominance. It's not great for Oliver, because, of course, he has this whole other life where he's constantly fighting life and death, but now here in his own company — in his own boardroom — he's fighting for control of his family's business, and she's constantly keeping him on his toes and constantly bringing him back to the office to put even more energy in that side of his life. Right now it's really contentious, but it's going to continue to develop and change over the the next few episodes.

Without getting into specifics, how does their relationship evolve over the course of the season?

From my perspective, their mutual respect is going to grow. I think they're curious about each other, testing the boundaries and really getting to know what the other is made of, their motivations and what drives them. From there, I think the audience will start to wonder what Isabel's motivations are.

There's speculation that Isabel and Oliver will become more than just business associates. What's the likelihood of something romantic?

Knowing Oliver Queen — I mean, chances are that something like that might arise. (Laughs) But Isabel is a strong woman, so his interactions with her are going to be complicated no matter how it changes.

John Larroquette (Night Court) has been cast as the recurring character of Nigel, a “genius roboticist who is sympathetic, highly intelligent and a bit broken.” [Entertainment Weekly]

Person of Interest

Sarah Shahi and Amy Acker explained their characters' motivations for this season:

TV Guide Magazine: What are your characters' agendas this season?
Acker: Root thinks the Machine is going to change the world — that we're going to have a greater ability to figure things out — so she's trying to communicate with it and get everyone else on board.
Shahi: At the end of the day, Shaw's a soldier — you give her an order and she's going to do whatever it takes to fulfill that order. Her own government has turned on her, so partnering with Reese and Finch is sort of a selfish interest, because they're also protecting her.

Ravenswood

We're going to learn about Caleb and Miranda's families through flashbacks to their ancestors in 1917. Plus, Tyler Blackburn previewed a complicated relationship between Caleb and Raymond:

Their relationship is always a little rocky, but they do become a little bit closer. They definitely start to become a little bit more dependent on each other.

I think that there's a lot going on behind the scenes that obviously we uncover as time goes on, but I think everybody should be looked at with a little bit of suspicious.

Teen Wolf

Actor Michael Fjordback explained a little of how he approached his character and if we're going to see more of his past:

At first your character was a big mystery. How much did you know about what and who you were playing?

Since I had never seen "Teen Wolf" before, I had no idea what the show was even about. I was cast and called to film on such short notice that I had almost no time to research my character and observe how Ian Bohen had shaped him. I literally had just a matter of days to drive home from Colorado, pack, and drive out to Atlanta from Dallas, much less study the show!

I understood that my character was a young version of Peter Hale. I understood that I only interacted with Lydia and was a hallucination to her. So, I did my best with the time I was given for that first filming date. I had several other dates booked to film Young Peter Hale within the first several months in 2012. So, during those later dates, I had more time to discover and develop my character.

In the flashbacks Peter's older sister Talia was introduced. Can you tell us if we are going to see more flashbacks of these Hale siblings?

It is possible, but only the creative hands within the show know the answer to that.
