Everybody knows that the movies can be a messy business — oftentimes, what reaches the big screen is the result of a process akin to sticking your fingers in a Cuisinart. And sometimes the original director of a project gets dropped just before filming starts — as happened with The Wolfman. Or sometimes the director gets dropped after shooting but during the editing phase, as was rumored to be happening with the Judge Dredd film recently. We also learned just a couple weeks ago that Steven Spielberg came perilously close to being sacked from Jaws halfway through shooting. More »

Space epics almost always play fast and loose with science, treating the laws of physics like suggestions. But some movies dismember Newton and Einstein with way more gusto than others. Here's our report card for bad science in 18 movies. More »

There's still only one way to bring a new person into this universe. Many science fiction/fantasy stories have featured the drama of childbirth... and some have done it better than others. 1985's Enemy Mine is a complex tapestry of heartwarming double-you-tee-eff. Dennis Quad is Willis Davidge, human fighter pilot who hates Draks. Lou Gosset Jr. plays Drak fighter pilot Jerry.
