Doctor Strange

The notion of Marvel making a Doctor Strange movie in phase three is still unconfirmed — but a source at Latino Review has supposedly gotten a look at the script for the Doctor Strange movie written by Thomas Dean Donnelly and Joshua Oppenheimer, and they're releasing a blow-by-blow synopsis of the movie in multiple installments. According to this second round of spoilers, the movie makes a time jump to three years after Dr. Strange loses the use of his hands in an accident.

Strange meets the ailing “Ancient One” and an Asian woman named Jade in a warehouse. A reaper, a supernatural creature attacks, and Strange is chased to a rooftop where he manifests an unexpected magical attack to defeat the reaper. Dr. Strange manages to perform surgery on the Ancient One. And the next day, the Ancient One takes Doctor Strange with him to deliver Chinese food to the Bellville hospital, where he meets Edgar, a man that can turn himself invisible. Doctor Strange notices that the bottoms of the Chinese takeout containers have an unusual symbol on them, the Eye of Agamotto. On the subway ride home Doctor Strange falls asleep and meets the astral projection of Karl Mordo. Mordo takes Strange on a tour that ends up at Stonehenge, where he explains these ancient monuments are battlefields in a fight against demons. A flashback of ancient druids fighting the demon Dormammu occurs, and Mordo tells Doctor Strange he is being recruited in the fight against demons.

Take all of this with a huge dose of skepticism. Even if the source is reliable, a first draft of a movie script is unlikely to make it into production without substantial changes and rewrites. More details at the link. [Latino Review]

Kick-Ass 2

Here are a couple more viral marketing clips.

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

J August Richards talks about what his mysterious character means to him and hints at what the show will be like:

“This is a role I’ve been preparing for since I was nine years old. It’s literally a dream come true. Because as a boy my favorite show was Superman and my favorite movie was Star Wars – along with other science fiction shows and movies. And I always wanted to fly. I’m surprised I’m not one of those kids that jumped off the roof and hurt himself. But you know, I got to fly. As an actor and as a person this is monumental for me.”

How much of the show falls within the superhero genre, as opposed to the spy genre? Is it a fifty-fifty mix?

“I’d be uncomfortable adding a percentage, but I will tell you that it’s all of those things. To me the show is quintessentially Joss in that it really gets you emotionally, it’s very funny, and it’s very action-packed and engaging. But I’d be uncomfortable assigning numbers, because… I’m not sure.” [Laughs.]

Grimm

Series co-creator, Jim Kouf, says Nick’s zombiefication isn’t something that will be resolved quickly. He says, “It’s going to take a couple of scripts to get Nick back into shape. Gotta say, he’s having a tough time. It hasn’t been easy on him. Like with any near-death experience or medical issue that someone deals with, it kind of changes their lives. You have a new perspective on things, so Nick is going to have to deal with the residual effects.”

As for Hank’s future, Kouf teases, “He’s been kind of single for a while so we plan to get him hooked up again.” [Entertainment Weekly]

Teen Wolf

Next week’s episode is going to show a new side of Scott. Tyler Posey says,” It shows a side of Scott you’ve never seen before and it was a lot of fun to play and very emotional and everyone on set was crying. Get ready with those tissues.”

He also teases the midseason finale saying, “It’s going to be the biggest thing in Teen Wolf history so far, and Scott is going to finally show why he’s the lead of the show.”

Orphan Black

Emmy nominated Tatiana Maslany says Helena is definitely dead and explains why that is a good thing:

“I think that’s the best thing. If you invest in a character and then they’re gone, that’s real life. That’s what happens. I think it raises the stakes for the series. You see these clones as fallible and human — even Helena who seems to defy humanity can die…We don’t know what’s going to happen to any of the clones now. They’re all up for grabs now.”

Under the Dome

Here are some plot snippets for episode five, “Blue on Blue”:

In Under The Dome episode 1.05, a Visitors Day is organized, enabling people on the inside to see and communicate with their loved ones on the outside. Joe talks to his parents and Barbie gets some unsettling information from a soldier regarding what the military's plans are.

True Blood

Tony Award nominee Valarie Pettiford is joining the cast of HBO’s True Blood in a recurring role. She will appear in a two-episode arc starting in Episode 7 scheduled to air July 28.
