There is nothing better than singing in a movie. Nothing. But what is the very best, "holy shit my hair is on fire" show-stopping musical number to ever exist on film?
"Day-O" - Beetlejuice
Ok, we're obviously going to have a few suggestions for this one. First and foremost, it has to be the "Day-O" number from Beetlejuice. Unexpected and brilliant. When the Earth is burned and we all live in underground cities, this movie moment shall forever remain burned in the brains of our future spawn
"Be Our Guest" - Beauty and the Beast
Next, Beauty and the Beast's "Be Our Guest." Even though this animation musical murdered it with "Bonjour," it comes back to murder the audience all over again with this bananas number. It may be old, and it may be hokey, but it's still absolutely grand. Side note, if you thought "Hakuna Matata," get out.
"Suddenly Seymour" - Little Shop of Horror
Simple, strong, perfection.
"Johnny B. Goode" -Back to the Future
And finally it's Back to the Future's "Johnny B. Goode" moment. Because, "CHUCK! CHUCK IT'S MARVIN. YOUR COUSIN MARVIN BERRY. YOU KNOW THAT NEW SOUND YOU'RE LOOKING FOR? WELL, LISTEN TO THIS!"
Now, top that (get it? you get it).
Put the very best show-stopping musical number from a movie in the comments. Please list the name of the song, and include a video if you can! I will crown the winner when I remember sometime later this month.
