Not seeking a date, but I will need a seeing-eye-human for the weekend 26/27th May. I'm going to MCM Expo in London as Glados from Portal on at least one day, and possibly as a genderswapped Wheatley on the other - and both costumes have ridiculous headpieces that give me the tiniest field of vision ever. If any of you happen to be UK geeks who'll be there, I'd appreciate navigational aid and will buy you food or booze in return. If any of you who'll be there will be dressed as any other Portal reference, you will have both food *and* booze from me. #io9datingservice

I think the Ven diagram for fitness geek and sci-fi geek overlap so slightly that they just gently caress up against each other. But, if there are any other fitness minded folks here that also like to hit up a comic con or the midnight showing of a big budget popcorn flick, drop me a note.
We can talk triathlon, fartleks, VO2 Max, Daleks or the answer to the Question of Life, the Universe and Everything.

38 / M / Straight / Philadelphia area.
Also; 6'1, fit, likes comic books. :) #io9datingservice

Anyone whos into anime or at least goes to Anime Conventions, and lives in the midwest, ACen (Anime Central) is next weekend. Lintor will be there and requests hugs. If nothing else, its always good to have more friends, even if I'm not your Mr. Right, more friends are always good :3.

21/M/Northern Chicago suburbs.
Oh, and straight, I'm sick of people assuming otherwise. #io9datingservice

They missed the perfect tagline for this show. Instead of "Let your geek flag fly!" they should have went with "Even the Doctor needs a companion."
Remember folks to have your Wookie mating call ready if you decide to watch "Geek Love" which will be airing tomorrow December 18, 2011 on TLC. I don't think this has been mentioned but I could be mistaken.
Oh and I saw the founder, Ryan Glitch, in an interview yesterday promoting the show and the hosts/interviewers didn't get all weird about this "geek lifestyle" and make awkward jokes so yay for tolerance in the world.

Hanging out in San Jose. Just a typical sci-fi/fantasy/anime/tech nerd. Male, 29. Will read anything that is given to me(along the same genres listed above) but mostly got hooked on Wheel of Time and Game of Thrones because of a friend. I was never interested in reading when I was young but once I read the Hobbit, I went from one to the other and I find myself with a bookshelf of books. Damnit, I need a kindle- Although, there is nothing like holding that paperback in your hand.

Movies? Yeah, I like them. Almost all of them. I could watch a horrible movie or a really good movie. To me, they all deserve a chance, but if it's in theaters, only a few deserve my money.

TV shows..Doctor Who, Fringe, Sherlock, Misfits, The Lost Room, geez..many many more. Some I watch religiously, others I watch while doing something else. Those listed though are some of my favorites that I can recall. Conversation will always bring up another favorite :P

Anime- That's a long list. But two come to mind because they are current - One Piece and Naruto Shippuden. Although, both can be considered the best of their times - I'm not picky with 'the best' since there's a ton of good anime out there.

Was kinda scared to post here but decided to try it anyway. I'm the type that says "you'll never know". Open for almost anything and can adjust easily. Been living in the west coast for all my life but was born in El Salvador. I can speak Spanish but my weapon of choice is English since I was 5 when I came here.

My armor of choice is jeans and a shirt. They give me +10 to Radiation.

Dream? To spacewalk- even though I get car sick. But there are no cars in space!

Fallback dream - To write a book. My language skills need to go up tenfold for this. =/

Oh, am I supposed to put my e-mail address? If so, it's iistaticii (at) yahoo (dot) com

Screwed up the first time and my post didn't appear. I'll get it right this time, I hope. #io9datingservice

Hi. I'm a geeky hetero cis woman in Washington, DC. My okcupid profile is wannabewannabe. It has pictures. I've been a science fiction and fantasy reader since I could read (the first real book I read by myself was Mary Poppins--and not the Disney version, either) and am now pathetically clinging to books in paper form and refusing to get an ereader because I fear for independent bookstores. Also a fan of sf/f films and some tv shows (Fringe and Walking Dead are about all I watch now, though). On io9 I mainly lurk these days, though when I worked from home, I commented with fair frequency as my starred alterego (get to know me and I'll tell you who she is). I'm a social scientist, but can do math and do that visualizing how objects would look flipped around thing that people say means one would make a decent engineer. #io9datingservice

Hi. I'm a geeky hetero cis female sort of creature in Washington, DC. My okcupid profile is wannabewannabe. It has pictures. I spend a lot of time on io9, though my commenting has declined since I had to change my password after the gawker password debacle (I can never remember the new one, and few comments are worth the hassle of resetting). So now I mainly lurk, completely wasting my starred status (using a temporary profile id here). I've been a science fiction and fantasy reader for decades (and a luddite clinging to books in paper form), though also a fan of films and some tv shows. I'm a social scientist who can do math and would have made a decent engineer had I not rebelled against my mathematician parents. I'm not much of a gamer, mostly because if I start anything like that (even Tetris, so imagine what happens with role-playing), I can't stop #io9datingservice
25/male/straight/around Boston Mass

pretty much all the usual stuff applies to me (into board games, sci fi, comic books) .
I also exercise a bit.

Since in the internet era we've pretty much all have ADD, I would say that you should
go to OkCupid and do a search for: bergstein20. I mean, lets be honest...pictures are
probably currently worth much much more then words to most individuals searching for
a date on this thing.

if you go on OkCupid and like what you see but aren't sure about whether
or not you want to talk with me...you can go a search on gawker to see what
I'm like. I know it sounds like I'm being lazy but...you won't get anything from
me telling you what sort of movies I like or music that I listen to. You will on the
other hand get a sense of me after seeing my personality in action.

If you decide that you want to chat with me, groovy. don't bother messaging
me on gawker though. I never answer my messages anymore. just e mail me
with the subject line "io9 dating service!!!oneoneone".

my e mail is: jrghoull at gmail dot com

If I don't get back to you in a day or two feel free to message me again.

have a great one! ;-) #io9datingservice
Morning, O-Deck. I am sick. I don't really feel like doing anything. I am tired, bored and feeling quite like one of those characters in stories that kinda just hang around the plot, being dull and feeling bad about themselves.

I don't like this. At all.

I would probably feel better if I had, say, 15 episodes of Doctor Who to watch, but I don't. I only have Sons of Anarchy, The Wire and The Thick of It. I don't want those. I want a lot more of Doctor Who. :(

Oh, well. I suppose I'll continue the Chuck-catchup. I have 9 episodes left of season 4. Hopefully that'll make me feel a little better.

Also, I need new friends. Fun and nerdy friends, that'll play Arkham Horror and Mansions of Madness, etc, with me, without complaining, feeling bored or getting distracted. Also need a new room, with a large table, where I can play this, so my parents won't complain about me using our living room, so that they don't have anywhere to be, and being all "we live here too, you know?". Blergh.

(On a sidenote, I saw the three first episodes of Nightmares & Dreamscapes. It was a bit shite. I won't watch any more of it.)

(Second sidenote, have anyone here played Alice: Madness Returns? If so, what did you think?)

Located in the bustling heart of San Francisco, just west of Skynet and southeast of Starfleet Academy lives Ash. Ash, who feels incredibly uncomfortable writing in the third person narrative but has decided to say fuck it and continue.

A lowly art student of humble central valley origins, Ash attends AAU in their storyboarding department as well as an aspiring comic book writer. About as gay as a wiccan on Buffy, she’d like to meet a girl with similar interests, hang out friendsies style and see where it goes from there.

In terms of what you’re looking at personality/looks wise, she’s been told she's a lot like Claudia from Warehouse 13. Just less hacking and more comics.
