Holy hell, the new Master Splinter is actually kind of terrifying. He looks like a real-life giant rat with a sword, from his pink little ears to his big, black eyes. Take a look.

A brand new commercial for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles reboot dropped revealing a brief, first look at Master Splinter, along with the first sound of his voice.

"You live, you die, you fight as brothers. Remember nothing is as strong as family," says (what we're assuming is) Splinter to his pupils the turtles (who are all brothers). Then the camera pans up on what can only be described as a real-life giant rat.

You can't see a ton, but this Splinter looks infinitely more rat-like than the scruffy live-action versions we've seen before. Plus, he has a Fu Manchu, which, of course he does because that is terrible. Here's a shot-for-short break down of the Turtle's master.

Splinter's beat up, ensemble.

And finally the best high-res look we can get at the guy reveals a kind of hairless rat face and possibly all black (very rat-like) eyes. Splinter is kind of terrifying.

We'll have to wait until we get a better look at his face, but there is real potential that Splinter may send some kids running out of theater because he may be almost TOO realistic and creepy. What do you think?
