J.J. Abrams's robot cop show Human has found its human cop, and it's Judge Dredd

When we last talked about Human, J.J. Abrams' upcoming human cop/robot cop TV show, we were discussing how Californication's Michael Ealy had taken the role of the android. We were also calling it Untitled J.J. Abrams's Robot Cop Show, since it didn't have a title. But now it has a title — Human — as well as an actual human to play the human cop in Karl Urban.

Says THR:

Urban will take on the leading role of John Kennex, a respected police officer who has shut down emotionally after a tragic mission that claimed the lives of nine of his fellow elite officers and left him critically injured.

Should Human move beyond the pilot stage, the role would mark Urban's first series-regular role on U.S. television, following roles on U.K. dramas Riding High and Amazon High. He joins a cast that includesCommon Law's Michael Ealy as Kennex's android partner Dorian; Lili Taylor as the police captain; and co-stars Minka Kelly (Friday Night Lights), Mackenzie Crook and Michael Irby.

Well, I can't say much for the show's new title, but I'll sure as hell give a scifi show starring Karl Urban a try. Especially if he's going to get to use the same car-lounging skills in Human he's showing off in the picture above.
