The blog of former Marvel editor Jim Shooter has become a wealth of absolutely crazy stories as of late (see: the origins of Secret Wars, the script for the Dazzler movie), but this latest anecdote takes the cake. In the 1980s, the bestselling Secret Wars miniseries was an antecedent to today's comic book mega-events, as it featured almost all of Marvel's marquee heroes and villains beating the tar out of each other. What's in comic shops Wednesday? A lot of new X-titles, the Predators comic book sequel, and the X-Files meets 30 Days Of Night. Comic-Con may be next week, but there's plenty of four-panel action on the racks. More »

We lamented the cancellation of DC Comics' Legion of Super-Heroes series at the end of the franchise's 50th anniversary, but obviously we made a mistake in choosing to look at the future of the characters. After all, as writer of the cancelled series Jim Shooter explains, the reason DC ended the title was entirely a personal attack on him. We've got some of his self-centered delusions below, but remember: File Under Self-Involved. More »
