This Thursday, America shuts down to celebrate Thanksgiving, a day of either remembrance of the hardships endured (and survived) by the Pilgrims when they first came to the country (Admittedly, the native Americans may have helped more than a little bit there), or of getting a day off of work. As a non-American, I learned about Thanksgiving through the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade and that special episode of Buffy, which is why I'm extra sad that none of today's SF television shows seem to want to make the effort to give us the holiday special that we deserve. Sources are reporting that should the troubled reboot survive its mid-season shake-up then a second season would include the addition of a new regular character: Michael Knight, as played by David Hasselhoff. Now that NBC is tacking on eight more episodes of Knight Rider, they've decided to retool the whole shebang, most likely to add the crucial element of "not making your eye sockets burn." The new episodes will focus more on on the relationship between the supercar KITT and Mike. Sydney Tamiia Poitier (daughter of Sidney Poitier and Deathproof actress) has been dropped, along with Yancey Arias and Bruce Davison. So basically, any one who had even a smidgen of talent is gone, and now it's up to Mike Tracer to carry the show with Val Kilmer's impossible-to-decipher voice. More »
