Does the Mona Lisa have a twin sister? For years, art historians thought a second version of Leonardo Da Vinci's famous painting was a copy created years after the original. But now that the painting has been restored, it appears it may have been painted at the same time — and in the same room — as its more famous sibling. More »

In between painting the Mona Lisa and idly designing flying machines for fun, Leonardo Da Vinci occasionally got outside and looked up every now and again. Because he was Da Vinci, the moment he did, he discovered a new natural law. This one was about trees, and after five hundred years, scientists are still trying to figure out why the law worked in the first place. More »

The one problem with Leonardo DaVinci's most famous painting of all, La Gioconda (or, to give it its more famous title, the Mona Lisa), is that it wasn't sci-fi enough. Thankfully, one man has spent the time and effort required to fix that one small flaw with the creation of the Mona Leia. Those eyes! That smile! That blaster! Feed your Carrie Fisher fine art obsession under the jump. More »
