History’s most famous explosions, reproduced in cauliflower

History's most famous explosions, reproduced in cauliflowerThe bombing of Nagasaki, the explosion of the Hindenburg, and the Challenger disaster have all been immortalized into smoke-filled photography. Artist Brock Davis has reproduced those iconic explosions in an unlikely medium: cauliflower.

Davis originally created these images for his Make Something Cool Every Day project. I had no idea where he got the idea to replicate these disasters in vegetable form (even the Hindenburg itself is a piece of carved cauliflower stalk), but they're oddly close reproductions. These really put the "fascinating" in "morbidly fascinating." I wonder if he has other plant matter disasters waiting in the wings.
