This is the coolest thing we've seen all day: a new anthology called Beyond Binary: Genderqueer and Sexually Fluid Speculative Fiction is coming out in May, and editor Brit Mandelo <a href="http://britmandelo.livejournal.com/718837.html">just announced the table of contents</a>. Not only does it include several of our favorite authors, but a few of the story titles are laugh-out-loud clever. Here's the TOC: <a href="http://io9.com/5866362/anthology-of-genderqueer-and-sexually-fluid-speculative-fiction-includes-a-story-called-schrodingers-pussy" title="Click here to read more about New anthology of genderqueer stories includes a story called &quot;Schrodinger's Pussy.&quot;">More&nbsp;&raquo;</a>

Science fiction is the literature of our times, the fuel of our imaginations and the source of our favorite imaginary worlds. But what do we mean when we talk about "science fiction?" <a class="autolink" title="Click here to read more posts tagged NALO HOPKINSON" title="Click here to read more posts tagged NALO HOPKINSON" href="http://io9.com/tag/nalo-hopkinson/">Nalo Hopkinson</a> has been one of the leading lights of speculative fiction since her first novel, <em>Brown Girl In The Ring</em>, won the Warner Aspect First Novel Contest in 1997. And she's been a valued instructor at all three Clarion writing conferences. So it's great news for fledgling authors that she's offering an intensive one-on-one fiction-writing mentorship to authors interested in writing "the literature of the fantastic," including science fiction. Details at the link. [<a href="http://nalohopkinson.com/2009/28/09/mentorships_2009-2010.html">Nalo Hopkinson</a>, thanks Mary!] <a href="http://io9.com/5371724/let-nalo-hopkinson-be-your-writing-mentor" title="Click here to read more about Let Nalo Hopkinson Be Your Writing Mentor">More&nbsp;&raquo;</a>
