@bookwench: 9. I'm only about halfway through season 2 of the revamped Doctor Who, though. Everyone loves Tennant, I've picked up that much from all the Doctor Who articles on io9, but I must say that I liked Eccleston more. Of course, I'm a newbie who knows nothing about Doctor Who, so perhaps Tennant is more true to the tone of the old series?

@bookwench: My very first doctor was Sarcastic Tall White-Guy Afro w/ Scarf (and Jelly Babies), since my dad would always plop me down with old tapes of the series. Well, that or Die Hard.

But my doctor, the doctor I've grown most attached to is 10. I wasn't a huge fan of the series at 7, so I didn't really get into it until the reboot. Eccleston is just 0.0000001 inches behind Tennant. though for me.

@Blodwynn: I do love the latest two incarnations. I've got this fear that the third guy is going to be terrible, no patch on Tennant, but - I had the same fear when Tennant replaced Eccleston, so I'm willing to give the new guy some serious benefit of the doubt.
