Seriously, if you want to see how animation can be used to create innovative narratives, take a few minutes out of your day to watch Drifters. Three people wake on a train that they don't remember boarding, and we quickly get to see how they all got there.
Ethan Clarke made Drifters in 2012 as his CalArts thesis film, and it was a finalist for the 2013 Student Academy Awards. It's quite astonishing to watch the multiple threads and timelines weave together into a single, cohesive film. It may be a short journey, but it's still a memorable one.
