Star Wars blasters fire plasma, not lasers. You can see plasma moving through space.

The sound is just gratuitous though.
@Unsub: It could have been an orange knit hat.
Horns of Nimon was pretty awesome when I was 10. In fact every Doctor Who episode was pretty awesome when I was ten. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. Even today.
Yes, but it will be a remake of "Dr. Who and the Daleks."
BTW, centrifugal force is a valid term to use.

If you were on a spinning space station and ran (or drove a vehicle) really fast against the rotation, would you become weightless and be able to push youself up into the air?

If you run in the opposite direction would you become more heavy?
Manipulate two rotating micro-black holes in proximity to each other to simulate movement through a Tipler sinusoid.
We are eating our way down the food chain.
What I read: Get two artifically created, contained and controlled black holes in proximity to each other and manipulate them in the right way and you have an interstellar propulsion system.
@Anekanta: Those researchers are working with Microsoft. Photosynth is a commercialization of their research. I think you mean you can't wait for this to be integrated with Microsoft's Virtual Earth. By the way, you can currently created your own (smaller scale) photosynths at www.photosynth.net.
Bah. Yellow stars generate more neutrinos than red stars. On Earth, there are very few substances that interact with neutrios, but such substances were quite common on Krypton (in fact Kryptonite acts as a neutrio magnet). Superman's power is the absorbtion and manipulation of neutrinos. By accelerating them he generates the forces that let him fly and have superstrength.
This is a sign of the end times. God took away the legs of the serpent for tempting man into original sin.This is a sign that God has forgiven the serpent because he is getting ready to wind up this whole 'reality' experiment.
That picture is from Cloak & Dagger. [en.wikipedia.org])
@Impkicker: Also, the grass around here turns brown in the summer.
I like the idea that The Sixth Sense and Unbreakable are in the same universe. After Unbreakable, I thought maybe he would continue a theme of people with special abilities and one day they would all join together to make a league of superheros movie.

Sadly it breaks down after Unbreakable.

- You have the guy who can see dead people.
- You have the guy who is really strong and tough.
- You have the guy who believes in fate or something.
- You have the guy who grew up on a weird commune.
- You have the guy who has contacts from faerie (that one could be useful).
- You have the guy who can run away from plants.

My idea for Ghostbusters 3:

Dr. Venkman (Bill Murray) gets cancer from wearing the proton packs. He uses the Ghostbusters' database of the occult to reseach a cure. He finds one that will make him immortal, but it requires him to sacrifice millions of New Yorkers. The Ghostbusters have to turn against one of their own to save the city.

It's a comedy!

I always figured the show "Smallville" would one day be replaced by the show "Metropolis".

I also always thought Chloe would die in a way that would result Superman always going out of his way to save Lois.

@Iamtehawesome:
But timelines merge. To avoid creating yet another timeline, Kyle has to survive and John has to send him back.
@axlotl:
Skynet is 1000 times more intelligent that you and me. It only seemed like an elaborate plan that relied on chance events. In reality (and by that I mean fictional reality), Skynet had millions on contingencies built on top of contingencies and a lot of different independent plans going on at once.

On the other hand, maybe Skynet's fatal flaw is that it tends to create overly complex plans. That can happen when your A* search heuristics are not admissible.

@Valrose: Faster than light star drives are based on quantum "spooky action at a distance" effects. While in flight the spacecraft are actually in an indeterminate quantum state at the macro level. That quatum state interferes with our ability to observe them. Actually, one can observe them just fine as long as one does not keep any evidence of observing them. Pictures will come out inconclusive. The less likely one is able to provide evidence, the more likely one will see a UFO. The best chance of seeing a UFO is obtained by getting completely pissed drunk out in the wilderness with no one else around. Our government keeps evidence a secret because once they release their evidence they will become less likely to gather new evidence.
