FFFF I don't have sound on my computer at the moment. I'm so sad. This looks amazing. I love Bat Theatrics. I used to LOVE the one at Daren Lake. Oh god. WANT THIS.
LOL. I'm not implying anything. I was just going for the easy joke. ;) As for my opinion of the show, it's fine. I have no problems with it, and as a child of the 80s/90s I definitely love the imagery. I tended to like the no-adult world of "The Odyssey" better because it was less soap opera-y though.
@jccalhoun: Yes, yes, but should they have?
Some "stoner" movies defy that title. There's this silly little film called "Rolling Kansas" that is all about finding a magical pot field, and while pot related things usually annoy the ever living fuck out of me, that one didn't. So a good movie sometimes is just a good movie.

Also, same goes for "crass" Venture Brother and Futurama can pull off jokes that most other movies and shows would not be able to deliver in a way that didn't turn me off. I'm hoping this one may be able to hold that for me, because it sort of feels that way, if less...elegantly than the two above examples.

Thanks for the review!
@AstroYeti: Just not in Clone Wars style. Wow. I mean wow. But yeah, that would be awesome. I'm behind that..
@buddhathing: I hated the Dark Knight, (I blame Bale mostly) and prefer to watch Batman, but TDK is way more techy. It didn't feel as Batmany to me, but that's not the point here is it?
Some people can't see through Tarsem's beautiful images to see what else he's trying to say. The Fall is so amazing on so many levels. And the casting, brilliant!
Oh Tarsem! I love you man, don't let me down!

Neither The Cell or The Fall were straightforward so I am hoping this is even the slightest bit weird and layered.
@roboboy4prez: Yeah. I mean, I love me some pretty ladies, and I applaud their attempt, but where the men at? Show me a decent Skywise and I'm in.
He was one of my favorite characters f any race during the 90s! He's a great father figure, a wonderful friend and a good captain. I don't think he was very stereotype of anything any more than anyone else. Everyone should be so lucky to have a dad/friend/boss as even keeled as Ben!
Yay! Thanks for posting that. I adore how Andrew sweeps in, owns the scene and sweeps out. The way Bashir is so caught of guard is a great marker off how much Garak had an effect on him considering how cocky he starts out in the series!
Yes, while no matter how much I like series after TOS, Roddenberry himself was a driving light of all the things that made TOS special. I do love TNG and DS9, but something happened where the storytelling and production went up, but no progress was actually made in anything else they were doing. :(
@TenthPlanet: StarTrek isn't, the networks and studios are. At least they used to be (see DS9, re: Garak) Everyone was cool with it but the network and studio...)
Any criticism against TOS about the whole gay issue is bullshit. Come on, I'm reading Nichelle Nichol's autobiography and they were having enough problems getting what they could on screen as it was. (I'm Bi for the record)

Also, I totally count Jadzia Dax as a gayelle (shamelessly stealing that term from Dlisted.) The Dax made her have feeling for the other Trill person, but Jadzia was all over her like white on rice. Maybe Ezri wouldn't have gone there? Jadzia Dax is not any other Dax. (And she also was all about Vanessa Williams's character too, sorry Worfy baby.)

StarTrek was always supposed to be political, about humans today, not so much the people of tomorrow. I'm not saying it always did this well, but yeah. "it was still the kind of story that left room for us to project our hopes for the future onto it."

Yes. It's why I love it so much and get mad when certain people talk smack about it.
@BioLady: They also tried REALLY hard to make Garak queer, the writers and the actor were all "OH YEAH pansexual alien" then the stupid went "OH NOOOO."
"but we're going to need some more meat before we can decide whether or not this is just a prettier version of 300." Even if it was just that I'd be pleased. 300 was so rapey and gross. It looked cool but wasn't pretty and was rather crass. I'm a fan of Tarsem's and a HUGE fan of Greek myth, so I'll give it a spin.
@omgwtflolbbqbye: As a bisexual, I'd like to say they are equally attractive. He's just a better actor. OH SNAP.
@LittleDragon: Did I write this in my sleep? Thanks for perfectly expressing all my thoughts on the matter.
The Shadow Gallery is my favorite. And arguably the god damn creepiest on the list!
The Sphere-O-Boom. "You've been scammed, sweetheart!"
