@ElimGarak: JLA: The Tower of Babel. Ras Al Ghul got a hold of Batman's contingency plans against the JLA and used them against him.
@Howard Blair: The joke, you are missing it. #katebeaton
I absolutely adore Kate Beaton. #katebeaton
Awesome awesome awesome awesome. I love this movie so much. Completely underrated in my opinion. It never gets the attention it deserves (kind of like Jim "Savior HotAss" Caviezel)
@AmericanSplendor: Actually, I think it's because some people believe that there should be an ultimate penalty for some crimes. I mean, saying that a man has life in prison for gruesomely slaying an entire family doesn't seem right to me. There are some people that just shouldn't exist anymore in the world- and no, it's not up to me, but the court to hear the body of evidence and decide if that person has earned it.
@thoughtthinker:

That's kind of a straw-man argument in regards to pro-lifers and pro-death penalty people, isn't it?

I mean, I'm pro-death penalty, and it's not because it's out of fear. Most people could quote you lots of reasons to be pro-life and I bet none of the reasons would include "awww ickle bbs are cute."

But otherwise I agree with you re: fur/leather.

@Diziet_Sma:

Wow, I didn't even realize the sample study was this small. That's kind of irritating- I think that studies like this just compound the idea that you can't be happy if you're overweight, and it's not that SCIENTIFIC in the first place.

Is this a self-fufilling prophesy, though? Women who are overweight can easily become more self conscious about themselves and telling yourself that you're not good enough can lead to other people not thinking you're good enough......I'd rather see the study confront the idea of people with low self esteem in relationships.

Ad hoc, ergo propter hoc.

@Lippmann: Yes.

Hell, I would have gone back to his room with that line.

@metalkate: I know, gross. I've never heard a masturbation metaphor sound so unsexy.
@biffpow: It's also because SD is so close to LA, so a lot of guests can come on just a short hop trip rather than a longer plane ride....say to LV.
I see Mugatu finally released DERELICTE.
Am i the only one who was slightly irritated that Eric seemed to be vulnerable to the crucifix? I thought last season Bill proved vampires weren't vulnerable to that (at the DoGD meeting). Would it only be through touch, I guess?

I don't remember the crucifix thing being in the books, either. I guess it bothers me because the main message was vampires aren't affected by religion, so crosses wouldn't burn them, holy water doesn't work, and they can walk into a church without bursting into flame.

@Jesse Astle:

Batman as Hermes? The trickster/messenger god? I always thought that would be Flash. You know, considering that he actually has the winged helmet.

I think Batman's more along Hades' line.

@pinkhungryhippo:

It could have been the reporter who specifically went to them for comment. I think they handled it rather well, actually.

@macaronic:

I think a lot was brought up because he was charged with assault, but I think it was pointed out that it wasn't a physical altercation, just verbally abusive. So I have no idea to what degree either party went to. I just know if I was defending MY significant other I could get a bit passionate aka loud myself.

So where do we sign up to be one of the virgins?
@macaronic:

In all fairness, the media and everyone didn't find out about that rant until months later because it was a leak. And the thing with his mom and sister...well, no one knows the real details to that, so it's hard to judge. If the rumors are true and there's been bad blood between them all, and then they insulted his wife...I can't say I blame him for shouting at them.

Interestingly enough, ASU has one of the top journalism schools in the nation.

Suck on that, Daily Show.

(I still want "Harvard of Date Rape" on my diploma when I graduate, though.)
