Did you ever think that maybe you like him better because you read him at 13? I'm not saying you were a stupid 13 year old... okay, I am. But most people are lucky if they're not stupid after 18, so don't take it personally. Maybe then you could have enjoy his terrible writing style, rehashed plot lines, and generic pro- and antagonists, not to mention female "roles," who were little more than trophies for the conquering hero at the end.

Sure, maybe it's mean of me to wish it was Koontz that was run over instead of Stephen King a while back (who I'm also not a fan of, but he has written some good things), but damn, it's hard not to hate someone who thinks the best career idea for someone dealing with the paranormal should be the fucking Marines. What the hell?
