I've tried that, but I've learned the hard way that even if my ear is "pinky-clean", a sizable wax-glob can be lurking just around the corner (of my ear canal). However, I do prefer to clean my ears with a q-tip right after showering, when it's all nice and steamy up in there.
Since when did evangelical Christians start hating birth control? I thought that was just a Catholic thing. And aren't evangelicals technically protestants, and aren't protestants OK with birth control? Also, all of the Catholics I know are A-OK with birth control -- only the Catholic clergy seem to care, and they obviously don't speak for all people who identify as Catholics.
Earth used to support much larger animals than it does now, largely because the atmosphere used to be much richer in oxygen. If a planet with the earth's mass can support creatures as tall as 10 meters in the right circumstances, it's plausible that a planet with 4 times the mass could support a 2.5 meter tall creature under the right conditions.
We use a lot of IM in my workplace. Over the past few months, people have started using the :-) emoticon a lot, and I think it's a great thing. A lot of the time we're in a hurry or overwhelmed, and that little smiley face goes a long way to show that you mean what you say in a positive way, even if you don't have time for a verbose response. Seriously, I like the smiley face in work IM's. :-)
I'm sure you're right about that -- for republicans, anything Obama says must be opposed at any cost. I still enjoy imagining Dick Cheney and the Koch brothers plotting this kind of thing in their secret bunker in the center of the earth though.
In my college dorm we did a blind taste test and most of us (including me) couldn't tell the difference between red and green ketchup. But since I usually look at my food as I eat, I still prefer red ketchup on my fries.
Thanks for mentioning this. I'd like to add that public health care in Germany and other European countries covers homeopathic medicine because their studies have shown it to be effective and cost-effective. Is it just the placebo effect? Maybe, but the fact is that huge numbers of German patients use homeopathic treatments and experience health outcomes that are indistinguishable from conventional medicine. It's funny that in America we respect Germany as a first-world country, we admire their technical acumen in science and industry and medicine, and yet when it comes to homeopathy, we're ready to completely dismiss the German system and just yell "they're full of shit!"
Well these people don't seem to have much regard for children of either gender who are starving or lack medical care or a decent education, etc. Maybe male children become persons again once they're old enough to play sports and put the wimmin folk in their place.
