In the arcade era, the many iterations of SF2 didn't mean a thing as far as my wallet goes. I was still spending the same amount of quarters I would have regardless of which SF2 I was playing and I found each iteration kept the game fresh.
In terms of console ports, I can understand that being a totally different story, but the market at the time was clearly targeted towards the arcade.
MLG Dallas Finals was a mess thanks to the lack of LAN. The commentators did a great job putting on a show during the multiple downtimes, but I felt sorry that they were even put on the spot like that.
My fave was Gamerbee vs Mike Ross. I was rooting for Gamerbee to go to the grand finals after Ross lost to Daigo in the winners bracket. [www.youtube.com]
